[Motherboard] How to install the motherboard into the case and precautions?
You can refer to the following steps to confirm the compatibility of the motherboard and chassis size specifications, and correctly install the motherboard into the chassis
Table of Contents
1: Confirm the motherboard size specification and choose a suitable chassis
2: Method of installing the motherboard into the chassis
3: Q&A
1: Confirm the motherboard size specification
For example: TUF GAMING Z890-PLUS WIFI
1. Click the ASUS official website search icon in the upper right corner, enter your motherboard model, and click

2. Click the [Tech Specs] page

3. In the [Form Factor] field, check the detailed specifications of the motherboard size
As shown below, the TUF GAMING Z890-PLUS WIFI specification is ATX

4. Confirm that the specifications of the chassis you choose match the motherboard size specifications
If the size specification of the motherboard above is ATX, then the chassis must also support ATX
For example chassis: ASUS Prime AP303 – Mesh Panel
2: Method of installing the motherboard into the chassis
For example:
Motherboard: TUF GAMING Z890-PLUS WIFI
Chassis: ASUS Prime AP303 – Mesh Panel
1. Check the motherboard screw holes, as shown in the picture below. TUF GAMING Z890-PLUS WIFI has 9 screw holes that need to be fixed to the chassis
2. Install the standoffs for the 9 screw holes corresponding to the motherboard in the case. The circled positions in the image below show where to place them:
Note: Different sizes of motherboards (such as ATX, Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX) have screw holes in different locations, so the case typically provides multiple standoff installation holes so users can adjust according to their motherboard specifications.
Be sure to only install the standoffs needed for the screw holes that correspond to the motherboard. If the case already has extra standoffs installed, please remove any standoffs that do not correspond to the motherboard's screw holes to avoid excess standoffs touching the back of the PCB and causing damage.

3. Gently place the motherboard into the case, making sure the rear I/O ports are aligned with the case's rear I/O panel. Align the screw holes on the motherboard with the standoffs in the case.

4. Insert 9 screws into the screw holes on the motherboard and tighten them to secure the motherboard to the case.

Q&A
Q: If the motherboard you purchased does not have an integrated I/O shield, what should you pay attention to during installation?
A: Please first install the I/O shield included with the motherboard onto the rear I/O panel of the case, then install the motherboard according to the steps above, as shown in the image below:
