MCI-1G/350-4T is designed with enhanced performance features in performance and new power management technology such as Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE).
MCI-1G/350-4T is built on the Intel® I350 controller and supports single root I/O virtualization (SR-IOV), iSCSI, and TCP segment offload (TSO). Its PCIe2.0 x4 host interface supports 5GT/s per lane and baseboard management controller (BMC) communication is supported on top of the Network Controller-Sideband Interface (NC-SI) via an OCP form factor.
By taking advantage of SR-IOV technology, MCI-1G/350-4T enables Flexible Port Partitioning (FPP), which an administrator can use FPP to control the partitioning of the bandwidth across multiple virtual functions. This enables the assignment of up to eight Linux host processes or virtual machines per port to allow for virtual functions.
